“TO ASSESS THE ANXIETY OF PATIENTS PRIOR TRANSFER FROM SICU TO WARD IN SELECTED TERITARY HOSPITAL”

BACKGROUND: The anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. Some people find it hard to control their worries. Their feelings of anxiety are more constant and can often affect their life. It is an unpleasant state of inner feelings. [1] METHODOLOGY: The research approach was evaluative approach, where the research design was prospective design. The study was conducted in the SICU and wards in Krishna Hospital, Karad. The sample size consists of 60 patients. Sampling technique was random sample technique used to select the sample. It shows that the level of anxiety in patients. The data were analyzed by using HAS (Hospital Anxiety Scale). RESULTS: It was found that there was statistically significant difference between the anxiety level of patients in SICU and ward. Paired with HAS to assess the anxiety level. Chi square test is done to check the association between the anxiety level of SICU & ward. T test was found that there is no association between the anxiety level of SICU and ward. CONCLUSION: Since the present study revealed that in SICU, patient have more anxiety than in the ward. Concentrated effort must be made by all nurses to decreases the level of anxiety.
