COGNITIVE RESPONSE OF FARMERS RELATED TO THE DANGERS OF GROWTH REGULATORS IN TOMATO FARMS IN PENJUEN - SULAYMANIYAH GOVERNORATE

This study's objective to determine the farmers' cognitive response related to the dangers of growth regulators in tomato farms in Penjuen - Sulaymaniyah Governorate, The study community consisted of 384 farmers, About 128 farmers were selected by a relatively random method with a 30%. Data was collected by personal interview through the questionnaire form that was formulated for the study's objective, then the form was tested to ensure its stability and validity for data collection, and the data was collected and analyzed by the use of the SPSS Version 22 program. The result showed that the cognitive response of respondents in general is medium tends to high relatively. Also the cognitive response related to fields of growth regulators dangers on Human health came firs rank with arithmetic mean of 17.22 degrees. Then comes Livestock with arithmetic men 15.21 degrees. Finally, an Environmental danger comes in last rank with arithmetic men 9.53 degrees. Additionally, the result shows that there is relationship between farmers’ cognitive response in general and each of the variables: Educational level, Household Size, Land Area used, and Exposure to Agricultural information sources while there is no relationship between farmers’ cognitive response with in Age variable. Lastly, the results showed that 70.31% of the respondents indicated that the reason for the lack of control over agricultural offices increases the degree of danger of growth organizations to productivity, human health and the environment.
