A RESEARCH PROTOCOL OF AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON EFFECTIVENESS OF EDUCATIONAL VIDEO PROGRAMME ON CHILD BIRTH IN PRIMIGRAVIDA MOTHERS

BACKGROUND: A childbirth education programme renders confidence to the pregnant woman by providing her the required knowledge, skill and to a great extent the change in attitude towards undergoing the unfamiliar experience of labour. It empowers the women to participate in the birthing process with complete psychological preparation, helping to preserve her energy and gain control over the birthing process. Methodology: the main objectives of this study are assessing the effectiveness of educational video programme on knowledge of child birth, child birth experience, stress, maternal and fetal outcome. Experimental research Design and Target population is Primigravida mothers after 32 weeks of gestation attending antenatal clinic at Krishna Hospital Karad. Who are going to deliver in the same hospital, available during data collection period. Total-102 (51 in each control & experimental group) Discussion-this study protocol aims to assess the effectiveness of educational video programme on knowledge of child birth, child birth experience, stress, maternal and fetal outcome.
