The present research work was conducted to study the effect of germinated maize in comparision to multienzyme complex on the growth performance of Kadaknath chicks. A total of 160-day old Kadaknath chicks distributed randomly into five treatment groups viz GMO, GM1, GM2, GM3 and GM4. Each group was divided into four replicates of 08 chicks each. Group GM0 was given commercial maize-based ration, group GM1 was given ration containing maize as cereal grain along with multi-enzyme complex, group GM2 was given ration containing germinated maize at 50% level of cereal component, group GM3 was given ration containing 75% germinated maize, of cereal component and group GM4 was given ration containing 50% germinated maize of cereal component with multi-enzyme complex at standard rates. The mean body weights were showing a significantly (P<0.01 and P<0.05) increasing trend from 0 to 13thweeks of age in chicks in all the treatment groups (GM1, GM2, GM3 and GM4) as compared to control group (GM0). The highest cumulative feed consumption from 1 to 13 weeks of age was observed in treatment group GM0 followed by GM1, GM2, GM4 and GM3, respectively. Differences between all treatment groups were highly significant. The mean body weight increased significantly in treatment groups when compared with control group, but there was a decrease in cumulative feed consumption and mean weekly feed conversion ratio.
