INTEGRATION OF FOREST HEALING IN SUSTAINABLE RURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

Rural tourism has a significant role in protecting natural and cultural heritage with local wisdom. Rural tourist attractions are closely related to natural resources, and the forest is one of them. The problem of this research is how to package the forest into a leading attraction in rural tourism. This study aims to explore and identify the potential of forest-based rural tourism in Nagari Pariangan. The method used in this paper is descriptive qualitative. The novelty that was donated was the concept of village tourism with forests as attractions based on local wisdom. This study shows that forest healing can be a tourist attraction in rural areas.
