PHARMACOBOTANICAL INVESTIGATION ON LATEX OF MANILKARA ZAPOTA PLANT: EXTRACTION, CHARACTERIZATION, AND APPLICATIONS

The bioactivity and use of Manilkara zapota plant latex in agricultural areas were investigated in this research. With the use of TLC, UV-Vis, and GCMS studies, latex was collected, extracted, and described. Insecticidal action, seed germination, and pot studies on latex were also conducted. This latex was proven to enhance soil porosity and soil structure as well as boost water retention capacity. Additionally, it stimulates the production of roots and increases agricultural yields. Insecticidal action against mealy bugs was also shown.
