The present study recognizes and analyzes the factors influencing the modern weaving technology adoption in the handloom industry in the erstwhile Nalgonda District. The primary data is collected with a semi-structured interview schedule and analyzed the factors influencing the target variable (modern weaving technology adoption) by using a binary logistic regression model. The analysis is made separately for entrepreneurs and contract weavers. Results show that family labor, annual income, and pucca house playedan important positive role in the adoption of modern technology by entrepreneurs and contract weavers’ households. Age has exhibited a significant negative role in the adoption of modern technology by both entrepreneurs and contract weavers. The factors which have an insignificant influence on modern technology adoption are education in the case of entrepreneurs, experience in the case of contract weavers, and access to government credit for both groups. This paper urges the government for providing pucca houses, and access to credit to the handloom households for an increase in the modern technology adoption rate.
