STUDY OF ANGIOSPERMIC DIVERSITY OF KUMBHALGARH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY OF RAJASTHAN, INDIA

Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the southwestern part of Rajasthan and encompasses parts of the districts of Rajsamand, Pali, and Udaipur. It is characterised by undulating topography and is located at the confluence of the western dry zone (Thar Desert) and the hilly forest of the Aravallis. During the present, study Terminalia arjuna (Roxb. ex DC.) Wt. & Arn., Madhuca indica Gmel., Commiphora wightii (Arnott) Bhandari, Barleria prionitis L., Boerhavia diffusa L. and Boswellia serrata Roxb. have been found to be of medicinal importance being used by the tribal's in the treatment of different disease. It may be mentioned here that several plant species are dwindling from the region due to their over exploitation. The local names of these plants their families, plant parts used, the mode of administration, their present status and conservation have been presented in this paper.
