“A STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VIDEO METHOD REGARDING ORAL HYGIENE AMONG SCHOOL GOING STUDENTS.”

Back ground of the study: To introducing oral hygiene is one of the practice of keeping the mouth and teeth clean to prevent dental problems, dental caries, gingivitis, and bad breath. Poor oral health affects physical, social, and psychological health it decreases the quality of life of school going students. Research methodology: Quantitative research approach was adopted to collect the data. 30 school going students were selected using non probability purposive sampling technique. The school going student’s knowledge was assessed by using self structured questionnaire before and after the intervention with teaching on oral hygiene by video method. Result: The knowledge scores for video method pre-test mean were 10 and S.D was 2. Also mean difference was -0.5667. Knowledge score for video method post-test mean was 12 and S.D was 2. Also mean difference of video method was -0.3333. Conclusion: There was significant difference in pre-test and post-test knowledge regarding oral hygiene. A single session involving video method teaching improves the knowledge towards oral hygiene among school going students.
