This article discusses issues related to the emergence of the concept of "catholicity", its interpretation in the works of Russian philosophers. A description is given of the specifics of Russian "catholicity" as a unique phenomenon in the socio-political life of Russia and its embodiment in the epic novel by L.N. Tolstoy "War and Peace".
