The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of a low crude protein (low CP) diet supplemented with a betaine (Bet) on the growth performance, carcass traits, biochemical, antioxidant and immune characteristics. Three hundred sixty (360) broiler chicks strain (Ross 308) one day old were used in our experiment bird divided into (3) groups with (90) birds of each group with (3) replicate depend on the concentration of protein that met the nutritional requirements of the broiler nutritional composition of the starter, grower and finisher to determine the effect of feeding program differing in CP levels % (CP-3%) lower dietary CP content ,using betaine at a dose of 750-1000gm / ton (control groups, low CP groups and low CP+ Bet supplementation). Results showed that betaine increased body weight and feed conversion ratio (p < .05). Slaughter performance showed that betaine inclusion improved carcass specially breast muscle percentage and yield (p -0.05).The concentrations of serum total protein and serum albumin significantly increased in groups fed low CP amounts and betaine compared with groups fed low CP only (P < 0.05) and Malondialdehyde (MDA) were lowered by either the supplementary betaine or the CP (P < 0.05), while increase glutathione- s- transferase (GST) activity. In addition, antibody titers against Newcastle disease vaccinewere measured among the treatments and control groups at (42) days old of chicks showed were significant higher when broilers feed with betaine supplementation (p˂0.05) compared with other groups in the end of experiment.
